: An Excess Baggage Hoist is a hoist that is attached to the rear of the aerobridge or terminal and is used to lower oversize items such as wheel chairs or prams to the apron so the ground staff can load them into the aircraft hold. They can also be used to bring up a wheel chair or pram from an arriving aircraft to the passenger.
