RATE can also install and relocate Nose In Guidance Systems (NIGS) also known as Visual Docking Systems (VDGS).
These units may be mounted on a post, directly attached to the terminal building, or on a free standing pole at the designated Bay.
RATE can interface the NIGS with the control systems of the passenger boarding bridge or jetway. This provides an extra level of safety as an arriving aircraft can only approach the bay if the NIG/VDGS is active and the aerobridge is in the correct position.
